There's a great conversation happening on Classic Play about homework. To be honest, my view on homework has evolved through the years. When my kids were little I loved homework. I loved watching them pull out their sheet from their folder and sit down and complete it and be so proud over their work. That changed. As kids got older homework was no longer this exciting thing, but it became a burden. However, homework that kids enjoy and can be creative about, whole different story. Sawyer is working on a math project right now where he's working on volume and they have to create a 3D structure full of items and you find the volume of all the shapes in your structure. He's totally into it. He and a partner are creating a Monopoly board game and this kid is in heaven. Everyday he comes home and works on the hotels or the deck, or the dice. I love that kind of homework! Worksheets, blah, not a fan. Anyway hop on over and see what else I have to say about the whole subject.
