Hi, friends! I'm Lacy from Living on Love. I'm so happy to be here today, while Deborah is on vacation. I am NOT on vacation, but that doesn't mean I can't pretend like I am! My husband and I always joke that vacation is really about eating good food for every single meal, dessert included! Today, I'm sharing one of the best creations I've come up with yet: chocolate cinnamon ice cream.
Now before you snub your nose at the thought of chocolate and cinnamon together, I ask you to reconsider. It's one of the best combos I know. In fact, there's a local coffee shop in town that makes a Mayan mocha, which is basically a regular mocha infused with cinnamon. It is to die for! This homemade ice cream recipe is too...
2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 cup chopped good quality chocolate
In a large bowl, mix together the milk, sugar, and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved. Add the cream and stir. Pour into the bowl of your ice cream maker and turn it on. Slowly pour in the cocoa powder and cinnamon.At first it will look like a powdery mess, but don’t worry! It will soon come together. Allow to spin for 15-20 minutes. When the ice cream begins to freeze and thicken, add the chocolate chunks. Let it spin for 5 more minutes, then transfer to a container with a lid. Freeze for 2-4 hours, then enjoy! I promise you'll be making this more than once!
