Last weekend when I had some girlfriends over for a favorite things party, I was trying to figure out what to make for dessert and decided it should be full of my favorite things naturally! Well that meant it had to include dark chocolate and popcorn.
This recipe needs only 3 ingredients:
popcorn kernels- we are fans of stove popped popcorn
dark chocolate- melted
I have a chocolate melter that I use all the time, thanks to my QVC watching mama.
To pop a big batch of popcorn on the stove, we like to coat the pan in coconut oil since it's healthier than butter. A few tablespoons of coconut oil in the pan, place 2 kernels in, cover with lid, once they both pop that means it's ready for the batch. Throw in the kernels and get shaking. Once the batch is almost completely popped, lay the popcorn out on a wax paper lined baking sheet. I like to go through and remove all the unpopped kernels at this time so people don't accidentally chomp on them.
Now take your melted dark chocolate and drizzle it over the popcorn. Add sea salt generously and pop in the fridge to harden. Once hardened you can spoon them in fun baggies or cups to serve.
