kids? what kids?

There's been some rumblings about the lack of photos and stories of my kids recently (ahem, cough cough Nanni). I'm in a weird spot where my kids are getting older now and I no longer have a need to vent about potty training woes and sleepless nights. Not that I don't have things to vent about, don't get me wrong. But they've taken on a different kind. Pre-teen discussions, siblings not getting along, school stuff.

Since my kids are older now than when I started this blog, I find myself second guessing what to share and not to share. I don't feel comfortable pouring out their stories, their problems on here, since it's theirs. They are old enough to read this blog now. All 3 of them! So although they will be making appearances on here, it's no longer (as I'm sure you've gathered the last year or so) a blog about them. It's actually my life at playtime, just like it says in the title. And although they fill a huge part of that life, it's still a blog of mine. You'll still get family vacation photos and updates, don't worry those will never end. And news like I'm going to be an auntie, not ONCE this year, but TWICE! No, not twins. My sister is having a baby girl this summer, and my sister-in-law is also expecting. *See! Look at me sharing!*

While we are talking about updates, here's some for you...

~As if our home was loud enough to begin with, my third grader now not only plays the sax but also the recorder. Oh joy...

~Monday night family dinners are alive and well over here, the kids would not have it any other way...

~Post homework snuggles with this girl are delightful, even if the two of us have been under the weather lately...

*the blog may be a little quiet in the following days, we are going to enjoy some family time that is long overdue. But the Instagram feed in the sidebar should keep you up to date with our daily lives...
