This past weekend I had the pleasure of co-hosting a Fall Tasting Event with Tanya of ItSweet&Savory and Felicia of A Simply Raw Life. We had delicious food, drinks, and events planned for our guests to enjoy, not to mention bags of goodies they were able to take home. We were pretty excited to introduce to everyone things that we each are passionate about.
Felicia rocked the raw food and did an amazing raw food demo, her dishes were amazing and she will be posting the recipes on her site soon. Tanya is foodie and coffee lover and had a fun and entertaining blind french press coffee tasting. More on all that to come. For me, you will see my taste come through in the decor and recipe department. We all have fun tutorials and recipes that we can’t share with all of you. For now enjoy some snapshots of the evening, it was a delightful night spent with good friends that came out to support us and our brands, and learned somethings while they were at it.
For decor we envisioned a festive fall table, earthy and organic. We accomplished this with fresh apples, eucalyptus leaves, and tree stumps. Minted was kind enough to donate these lovely tissue fans which made the backdrop fun and airy.
A party like this is fun to host no matter the season, gather your friends, whip up some fun seasonal dishes and enjoy the change of weather and season together. Our menu was full of vegan and gluten free dishes, as well as some very delicious breads and meats. We had something for everyone: black rice kale salad, prosciutto crostinis, gluten free chicken soup, artichoke dip, meatballs, just to name a few. It’d be fun to host a potluck where everyone brings one dish or cocktail that they just love to prepare and serve this time of year.
Desserts ranged from sugar cookies and pumpkin muffins to raw chocolate tartlets and apple crumble. I promise recipes and links to recipes will follow.
The coffee tasting had amazing coffee choices, guests enjoyed a variety of brands, but Stumptown definitely stood out. The raw smoothies that we sampled were seriously the best green smoothies that I’ve ever had. Guests were also treated to a gift bag full of goodies by Artisana Foods, Navitas Naturals, and Manitoba Harvest. I experimented with homemade organic body butter, and I can’t wait to share with you all the tutorial.
It was such a joy to plan and throw this event and I know this will not be the last. Our wheels are already turning with new ideas. This week will be full of party fun, decor, and recipe tutorials. Since we couldn’t invite all our readers to this night we hope you enjoy a “virtual” fall tasting event with us each and every day this week. I’ve got some post writing to get going on!
