from the kids

You thought we were done talking about anniversaries?! Phhsssssssttttt! No way. These are a big deal, we like to drag them O U T, WAY  O U T !

I’ve said this before, but it really works out nice that our anniversary is right around Mother’s Day. So everything the kids have been working on in class they tweak a tad and voila they have anniversary presents! Sorry, babe, usually they are just for me. :)

Aaron picked up the boys from school on Friday and they came home bearing bouquets of flowers each and armloads full of goodies. Sawyer had a flower bulb pot planted with a sweet poem, homemade cards, and the best: a coupon book. In this coupon book I can redeem things like “help my sister with her homework”, “vacuum the whole house”, “a 3 minute massage”. And the best one?

Yes, you read that correctly. I have a coupon to buy a hamster. Little weasel that Soso is.

Gunnar made me a beautiful flower with a poem on each petal along with a homemade card.

Greta came home with the most beautiful gift, wind chimes. We don’t own any and I didn’t have the heart to put it outside where I wouldn’t see it all day long, so instead I hung it just above my kitchen sink where I can stare at it all day long. If I open my bay windows it “sings the most beautiful song” as Greta likes to tell me.

The kids have been working on these for months. Rolling out the clay, making designs in them, firing them, choosing their glaze, firing them again, attaching them to the branch. Just love this so much.
