So far we are two for two with the bread machine. My first loaf was honey whole wheat and can I just tell you how thrilling it is to walk in the door to the smell of freshly baked bread!? Heaven. The next day I decided to try out just a basic french bread loaf. The kids devoured it when they got home from school. I have to say the crust was amazing, super crunchy and the inside was moist and soft. Delicious. I think I may be starting a bad habit baking fresh bread daily. But I can't help it. It even motivated Aaron to stop home one day for lunch because he wanted to use the bread to make himself a sandwich. I can't wait to pick up a few more ingredients and try out some new recipes. The kids are begging for the cinnamon swirl bread, but that would involve me being home the whole time so that I can remove the dough, sprinkle the cinnamon and then replace for baking. Maybe on the weekend we will try that. But I have to say, it is so easy I'm embarrassed to even call it baking. You put the ingredients in in a certain order, apparently the yeast cannot touch the wet ingredients, press 2-3 buttons and then 3-5 hours later (depending on the size of loaf and type of bread you are making), tada! Fresh baked bread.
