Loving These...

I love sharing good finds, as much as I love having good finds shared with me. So here are a few items that I am using everyday and loving.

This nude color balm is my favorite, in the color nude of course! I discovered this brand which is green and non-toxic, and I tell you I am obsessed with the sheer but still visible color. And it lasts for hours which is always an issue for me and lip colors. And I think the price point is great.

Ilia, is another favorite brand of mine, and I've been wearing this cheek tint (my pick is I Put a Spell on You), instead of blush the last few weeks. Also, by Ilia I've been layering a bit of this highlighter and just think the combination is heavenly.

A few items on my wish list to try:

Honey Myrrh Lip Balm

Shower Bombs

I also have this face oil on my list, just purchased this makeup sponge which I think makes me the last person in the world to apply concealer with my fingertips.

Do you have any vitamins you love? The kids just finished their multivitamins and this brand came highly recommended. I take this Biotin daily for skin and hair and really notice a difference the last few months.

I think that does it for all my finds and wish list. I would love to know what you are using and loving these days.

Round Up

It's been awhile since I've shared some articles with you. I really love this aspect of my job and I write just enough to keep it fun and interesting, but not too much to take over. Last year I wrote 2-3xs as much and it wasn't so fun. I still can see my clients, take care of the kids, help Aaron out when he needs me, and take care of the house some of the time :) It also provides a nice little income that I get to set aside and use for whatever I might fancy. Most recently I saved up for my Fitbit Blaze and I love it! I like that I don't have guilt because it wasn't exactly in the need category, and I contribute my regular income into our family account, so this was a guilt free splurge that came out of my little paypal account.

Here is what I've been busy writing lately:

Remember those warm VO5 hair treatments we would do years ago? How about a 2016 version?

I'm a huge dry brush fan when it comes to battling cellulite, but this seaweed wrap kicks it up a notch.

Face oils are all the rage at the moment, I use avocado oil myself, but a lot of people seem to be intimidated by it still. Don't be! Simple and so hydrating!

If you're feeling adventurous, a pH balanced DIY shampoo

Don't be afraid of the stickiness...raw honey face wash

I'm a big sheet mask fan, both in facials and personally, this DIY one is a little too easy, I'm almost guilty sharing it.

What's multimasking?

And those are just from the last month! They're a joy to write and research, and I really appreciate the melding of my esthetician world with my writing one.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are looking forward to a date night, a family hike, catching up with friends, and who knows, maybe a nap and some circuit training, because you know, Fitbit Blaze....always watching. xo

Skin & Beauty Finds

By now you all should be pretty familiar that skin care is pretty high up there on my list. It's what I do for work, it's what I love, it's ma' brand! But I'm always experimenting and trying new products to see what I could replace or what is more effective. I did a huge post on my am morning routine here, the majority of which is all still pertinent information with exception to a few alterations which I will share with you now. I kick around doing a night time routine post to share how I take it all off and what I do before I go to sleep, I'll add it to the checklist.

Here are my new finds in the skin and beauty department:

  • I swapped out my brow shadow and brush for a brow pencil, kind of like a crayon more than a pencil. I use it every day and I am the 'taupe' color. I order two at a time because when I run out I panic.
  • I also added this oil to my routine, I mix it in with a drop of avocado oil. It's lovely. I started using it after a facial I had at Ojai Valley Inn last November, I'm on my second bottle.
  • I'm a lip balm hoarder, always trying to find the ultimate lip balm to apply before bed. I read reviews like it's my hobby. I try a new one every month or so. This one is in my current rotation, it's reasonably priced and is really hydrating. When it comes to lips I also experiment with lip products for the day, when I need an spf on my lips, Babo is my go to. It smells divine and isn't too pasty, it's very moisturizing and I kind of like the pale tint the sunscreen gives my lips.
  • Last but not least let's stay on the lips. I just got this in the mail a few days ago after reading about it religiously for a week. It got RAVE reviews in all the colors. I'm a big Dior fan when it comes to the lips, they really do the consistency and hydration just right. It's called Dior Addict Lip Glow and I completely get the addict part. It puts just a tint on to your natural lip color but it lasts forever! I don't think you can go wrong with any color, the pink and the coral would go with any skin tone, and it's not a lipstick, it's more of a lip tint. So you don't have to stress about trying it on and seeing if it looks good. Trust me! It'll look good, and last for hours, while still looking so natural and fresh.

There you have my latest and greatest finds at the moment. I'd love to hear any must have products you use and love. Please share in the comments if you would like. xo
